What kind of tape do you use for stripes?

If you’re thinking of adding stripes to your wall, blue painter’s tape is the best kind to use to section off each stripe. Since it sticks to walls so well, blue tape will stay in place long enough for you to finish a project that might take a few days. As with every other step in the painting process, patience is key.
Does Frog Tape pull paint off?
We used 2 1/2″ green frog tape. removing the tape it pulled the existing wall paint right off. If I wasn’t careful it would have ripped the Idea Paint off with it.
Do you take Frog tape off between coats?

Although it is meant for delicate surfaces you would be surprised how well it sticks to most surfaces. Even the ones that regular tape will have problems sticking to. The downside is, however, that the Yellow Frogtape tends to lose shape easily and straight lines can become a challenge.

Uneven Surfaces An uneven surface could be the reason your painter’s tape is peeling off paint. If there is debris, holes or bumps on your surface, the tape will not be able to adhere. Any gaps will create space for the paint to fill, which, when dry, will pull up along with the tape. The result is often a peeled mess.
